Wedding Album Design

I'm going to confess to myself, that I am also a Wedding Album Designer. I picked up this side job last August when an old friend  from high school, Son aimed me up through Facebook and offered me the position as his album designer.(Which I have never thought  of designing something like this before.) Oh and did I mentioned that he is a photographer? Anyway all the images are copyright by sonluan.com and the layouts was designed by me. After the album was fully completed Son sent it in to the printing company and got it printed.  The result was impressive even through I have not have a chance to see it yet.

Layouts overview, I believed the sized was 12in by 12in.

The Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race

I just joined the website Illustration Friday, is a weekly illustration challenge. A topic is posted every Friday and then participants have all week to come up with their own interpretation.  So I finally completed my first week challenge, and the topic for this week was "Ahead". The folktale of the "Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race", is the first thought that popped up in my mind.

As many of you probably have heard the story, but I'm going to post a short overview of this story anyway.

"One day a rabbit was boasting about how fast he could run. He was laughing at the turtle for being so slow. Much to the rabbit's surprise, the turtle challenged him to a race. The rabbit thought this was a good joke and accepted the challenge. The fox was to be the umpire of the race. As the race began, the rabbit raced way ahead of the turtle, just like everyone thought. The rabbit got to the halfway point and could not see the turtle anywhere. He was hot and tired and decided to stop and take a short nap. Even if the turtle passed him, he would be able to race to the finish line ahead of him. All this time the turtle kept walking step by step by step. He never quit no matter how hot or tired he got. He just kept going. However, the rabbit slept longer than he had thought and woke up. He could not see the turtle anywhere! He went at full-speed to the finish line but found the turtle there waiting for him."

Photoshop Technique

It a Saturday night, I have nothing to do beside hanging out with my son and being obsessed with his pictures.  His cuteness is melting my heart and taking my breath away at every moments he looks at me smile and laugh with his "goo goo ga ga" baby's talk.  I felt like my life is no longer about me but him. I'm not a photographer so I have to spend plenty of my time Photoshoping his pictures.  I randomly went through other designer's blog to see what's up and to learn from them as well. One of the blog site that attracted me today was "Photoshop Disaster blog". It's a collection of commercial and awful Photoshop work which is very amazing!. I don't want to say that I have master the photoshop's world but its decent enough, so hopefully my name will not be listing in "Photoshop Disaster" blog.

Baby photography

"No! you do not need a freaking camera! because you're not going to use it!" My hubby said with an angry face.

Not too long ago, I wanted to buy a camera so bad, and my hubby disagreed! I then went and brought the camera behind his back. I brought the Samsung TL34HD digital camera. The Samsung TL34HD support 14.7-megapixel sensor along with 3.6x optical zoom lens. It equipped with 3-inch touchscreen LCD display as well as 28mm wide angle lens. Anyway I was kind of disappointed of myself because I did not used the camera as much as I thought I would. Beside from that I get a huge yelling speeches from my hubby and so so.

I had my son about four months ago, and I have been using the camera like crazy. The images quality is not that great or may be I'm just a bad photographer. I had the photos imported into Photoshop and did some twist and trick to have that professional look. I don't want to spend 300 dollars to have my son's picture taken by a professional photographer.

I told my husband that I want to invest in a 1k camera, like those that were owned by a professional photographers, and he said "Hell No!"

Here are some of the pictures of my son that were taken by my small pocket camera.

Happy Easter

Easter is the sacred celebration of Christ's resurrection from the dead. It is the oldest and holiest Christian festival, the climax and center of the liturgical year, and the holy day to which all other holy days point. Even denominations that do not strictly follow a liturgical calendar commemorate Easter with tremendous joy and thanksgiving.

Cute Little Icons

I was browsing through this website and saw this set of web icon containing about six different designs. It looks very adorable and cute. It reminded me of the Japanese/Chinese arts culture. So I thought I’d created one for myself just for the heck of it, unfortunately the designs turned out nothing like the one I have seen but similar, which is good enough.
